The computed<br \/>\nresult may also be interpreted as the liner insertion loss, defined<br \/>\nas the reduction in sound power following the introduction of the<br \/>\nduct liner. The prediction method used is based on a theoretical<br \/>\nmodel which allows a selection of typical velocity profiles across<br \/>\nthe duct.
