This practice simplifies access to<br \/>\nfibers for future reconfiguration or as a collateral result of<br \/>\naccessing one or a few of the tubes in a cable.<\/p>\n<p>The procedure in this document tests the ability of tubes to<br \/>\nwithstand temperature cycling without sustaining the specified<br \/>\ninduced fiber attenuation when the tubes are not constrained by<br \/>\nother cable components or are only minimally constrained by slack<br \/>\nmanagement devices typically used in splice cases or pedestals.<\/p>\n<p>Typical indications of failure are:<\/p>\n<p>1. A temporary or permanent change in optical throughput which<br \/>\nexceeds limits stated in the Detail Specification.<\/p>\n<p>2.
