This document provides standardized calculation methodsfor the quantification of liquids and the determination of baseprover volumes under defined conditions, regardless of thepoint of origin or destination or units of measure required bygovernmental organizations. The criteria contained in thisdocument allows different individuals, using various computerlanguages on different computer hardware (or manualcalculations), to arrive at identical results using the same standardizedinput data.
This publication rigorously specifies the equations forcomputing correction factors, rules for rounding, thesequence of the calculations, and the discrimination levels ofall numbers to be used in these calculations. No deviationsfrom these specifications are permitted since the intent of thisdocument is to serve as a rigorous standard.
