INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE

This standard was formulated to provide dimensions and
tolerances necessary to lead tape components in the radial format
(unidirectional leads) such that they may be automatically handled.
Automatic handling includes insertion, preforming and other
operations. The emphasis of this standard is on the requirements
for high-speed automatic insertion. This standard covers the lead
taping requirements for components having two or more radial
configured leads, provided these components may be taped in
accordance with the requirements of this document.
