This Standard specifies requirements for ready-for-use and single-use sterile injection syringes made of plastics materials (hereafter referred to as "syringes").

The syringes specified in this Standard include the syringe with an injection needle conforming to JIS T 3209 pre-fitted on.

It excludes the syringes for use with insulin, single-use syringes made of glass, syringes with needles permanently attached, syringes pre-filled with the injection by the manufacturer and supplied as a kit, and syringes for use with power-driven syringe pumps.

NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

ISO 7886-1:1993 Sterile hypodermic syringes for single use – Part 1: Syringes for manual use and Cor.1: 1995 (MOD)

In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS and IDT (identical), MOD(modified), and NEQ( not equivalent) according to ISO/IEC Guide 21-1.

JIS T 3210:2005 may be applied until July, 28 in 2014.
