{"id":306776,"date":"2024-10-19T21:01:29","date_gmt":"2024-10-19T21:01:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/bs-7711992\/"},"modified":"2024-10-25T18:37:19","modified_gmt":"2024-10-25T18:37:19","slug":"bs-7711992","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/bsi\/bs-7711992\/","title":{"rendered":"BS 771:1992"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>1.1 General<\/b><\/p>\n<p>This International Standard specifies requirements for the physical and chemical properties of phenolic moulding materials, classified by type and grade according to their use and properties.<\/p>\n<p><b>1.2 Types<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Four types of phenolic moulding material are specified, as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Type A: General purpose<\/li>\n<li>Type C: Heat resistant<\/li>\n<li>Type D: Impact resistant<\/li>\n<li>Type E: Electrical applications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>1.3 Filler<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The type of filler to be used in each type of phenolic moulding material is not specified but is usually as shown in the following examples:<\/p>\n<p><b>1.4 Resin<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Abbreviations are used to indicate the type of phenolic resin, as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One-step phenolic resin: PF 1<\/li>\n<li>Two-step phenolic resin: PF 2<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>1.5 Grades<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The various types of material are further sub-divided into grades based on the property levels and requirements.<\/p>\n<p>EXAMPLE<\/p>\n<p>PF 2A1 is a phenolic moulding material made from two-step resin, intended for general applications.
