This European Standard applies both for new and existing tanks. EN 12954 addressing general information concerning principles of cathodic protection of steel in contact with soil and EN 14505 addressing the case of complex structures are referred to in the present standards. Detailed information concerning measurement techniques of cathodic protection given in EN 13509 are also referred to in the present standard.
