This reflects<br \/>\ntheir predominance in the database. However, the methods are often<br \/>\nalso applicable to wings with modest cranks and sawteeth, but<br \/>\nimplementation requires a suitable representation as an equivalent<br \/>\nstraight-tapered planform.<\/p>\n<p>Addendum A of ESDU 76003 describes a geometric construction of<br \/>\nsuch an equivalent wing. The concept has been employed as a<br \/>\nstandard procedure in numerous applications within the ESDU<br \/>\nAerodynamics Series and has proved satisfactory.
