The effect of bolt size, joint geometry, radial position<br \/>\nof the external load, material properties in the joint and thread<br \/>\nflexibility on the loads are all examined. The Item also considers<br \/>\nchanges to the inter-member contact pressure distributions that<br \/>\ntake place in a reference joint.
