The methods can be used to predict the forces and conditions arising from the motion of tyres with and without wheel braking on runways that are dry, wet or covered by water, slush, snow or ice. Single and multi-wheel configurations are considered. The solutions set out in the ESDU Items are derived from and matched to experimental data.
