This part of ISO 10303 specifies the interpretation of the integrated resources to satisfy requirements for<\/p>\n
the description of geometric shapes by means of manifold surface models.<\/p>\n
The following are within the scope of this part of ISO 10303:<\/p>\n
\u2014 <\/b>3D points;<\/p>\n
\u2014 <\/b>points defined in the parameter space of curves or surfaces;<\/p>\n
\u2014 <\/b>3D curves;<\/p>\n
\u2014 <\/b>curves defined in the parameter space of surfaces;<\/p>\n
NOTE – Such curves are also known as pcurves or cons, which are acronyms for parametrised curve<\/p>\n
and curve on surface.<\/p>\n
\u2014 <\/b>the elementary curves line, circle, ellipse, parabola, and hyperbola;<\/p>\n
\u2014 <\/b>intersection curves;<\/p>\n
\u2014 <\/b>polylines that consist of at least three points;<\/p>\n
\u2014 <\/b>the elementary surfaces plane, cylinder, cone, torus, and sphere;<\/p>\n
\u2014 <\/b>swept surfaces created by rotation or linear extrusion of a curve;<\/p>\n
\u2014 <\/b>sculptured curves and surfaces;<\/p>\n
\u2014 <\/b>trimming of curves and surfaces using topological entities;<\/p>\n
\u2014 <\/b>composition of curves and surfaces using topological entities;<\/p>\n
\u2014 <\/b>replication of curves, surfaces, and surface models;<\/p>\n
\u2014 <\/b>3D offsets of curves and surfaces;<\/p>\n
\u2014 <\/b>2-manifolds.<\/p>\n
The following are outside the scope of this part of ISO 10303:<\/p>\n
\u2014 <\/b>unbounded geometry;<\/p>\n
\u2014 <\/b>self-intersecting geometry;<\/p>\n
\u2014 <\/b>geometry in a 2D cartesian coordinate space;<\/p>\n
\u2014 <\/b>replication of points;<\/p>\n
\u2014 <\/b>topology without an association to a corresponding geometric domain;<\/p>\n
